Our Tale

Victory or Valhalla was born from a passion for Norse mythology and Viking history.

We are drawn to the idea of simpler times, less concrete jungles and a slower way of lifeA time like that of our ancestors, when they were closer to nature and eachother and there was a true community spirit; everyone working together for the good of the village. A time where everything was made of natural products and nothing went to waste. And that's something we hope to build towards as a business.

Our Mission

Tired of seeing Vikings portrayed with silly horned helmets? Fed up of the same overwhelming t-shirts that have ugly all-over prints or the silhouettes of a howling wolf? Yeah, so are we.

We've just taken our first steps as a business to rectify this atrocity. Unlike so many other products on the market, our t-shirt designs are heavily inspired by the Norse sagas and Viking history, and we plan to be as accurate with this as possible (give us maybe 10% creative freedom).

These designs are printed on 100% cotton t-shirts.

They’re high quality, built to last, soft as a feather and fit as comfortably as a Viking in a longship.

As our journey has only just begun, we thought we’d keep things simple. Starting off with a few sleek t-shirt designs in Younger Futhark (Viking runes) and some fictional 'Vikingr' quotes in blood red that are sure to make a statement wherever your day takes you.

Whilst there is room to expand on these designs down the line, our goal is to have a large collection of graphic backprint tees, some of which will fall under the collection of ‘Modern Viking Renaissance’. This collection / 'movement' takes inspiration from many different art periods and a mix of graphic design styles to create unique designs that tell of the epic sagas of the Norse Gods the brutal history of the Vikings.

The Future

As we continue our journey, we will expand our clothing range to include more t-shirt colours, beanies and hoodies. But for a change of pace we also want to bring back the 'henley' style shirts. You know those medieval ones with the deep 'V' and drawstring closure? Yeah they need to make more of a comeback!

Beyond the clothing, we're excited to delve into handcrafted products; beginning with leather keyrings and bracelets then adding further product lines and crafting materials as our journey progresses. We're aware we may be getting ahead of ourselves at this point, but we're excited for the future and getting our hands stuck into all the ideas we've got listed in a Google doc.

Re-use / Recycle

As a new business, we believe it is a priority to be as eco-conscious as possible and we strongly believe caring for our planet is of the utmost importance, especially in todays world.

That’s why we've started by using 100% cotton t-shirts that are delivered to you in paper packaging; that is easy for you to recycle. We also operate on a made-to-order basis, this allows us to decrease the amount of wastage that would otherwise be produced when working in bulk; like so many of the larger chains do.

As we grow, so will our sustainability practices. To help us all further along a greener path, we will prioritise the use of organic / recycled materials in as many products as possible, and off-set those nasty carbon emissions and the impact of deforestation by planting trees. We will tie the tree planting into our business based on orders, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
